A former female assassin known as "The Black Mamba" is brutally attacked at her own wedding. Four years later, she wakes up with one goal: revenge.

"Kill Bill" tells the story of "The Bride" (Uma Thurman), a former member of the "Deadly Viper Assassination Squad" led by Bill (David Carradine). After being betrayed during her wedding rehearsal, she awakens four years later, having lost her unborn child.

Fueled by vengeance, The Bride embarks on a quest to eliminate every member of the squad that betrayed her, with Bill as her ultimate target. She first travels to Tokyo to confront and kill "The Bride's" former teammate "Beck" (Lucy Liu), then engages in a fierce duel with "The Viper" Vernita (Vivica A. Fox).

The film uses non-linear storytelling with flashbacks and action sequences, blending samurai, martial arts, and western genres to create a unique revenge tale.

Kill Bill was originally conceived as a single film, but due to the script's length and rich content, it was ultimately split into two volumes for release. Tarantino and Uma Thurman conceptualized this character during the filming of Pulp Fiction, co-creating the iconic Bride figure.

Uma Thurman underwent three months of intensive training for her role as the Bride, including swordsmanship, martial arts, and physical conditioning to perform most of the film's action scenes herself. The production also invited Hong Kong action film master Yuen Woo-ping as the film's action choreographer, infusing the movie with authentic and dynamic fight choreography.

The film blends multiple cinematic styles and cultural elements, from Japanese samurai films to Hong Kong martial arts films, and Italian westerns. Tarantino creates a unique cinematic language through references and homages. The music, ranging from Japanese rock bands to classic American country music, further enriches the film's atmosphere.
